Funny, I took this photo in peek fall at an apple orchard but the hues of this image just make me think of the Christmas season. Probably because red and green are synonymous with the Santa holidays. I always look for subjects that separate themselves from the environment. Sometimes its a strong silhouette or isolated lighting but in the case of this photograph it is all about the color. Not only is there a bold red color but, to add punch there is green grass and foliage which creates very strong color contrast. Add a pinch of perspective and a dash of shallow depth of field and Bam! Isolated subject in a complex environment.
